Our girls met their host friends: In Gent, one of the most important cities in Belgium, we took a walk through the Turkish neighbourhood. We could visit a mosque and eat some exotic food: We made aldo two very interesting visits: one to a psychiatric hospital museum, and the other to Breendonk, a former work camp during the Second World War. In the afternoon, we visit the famous city of Antwerp (also called Antwerpen, Anvers or Amberes) where many people from all over the world live there: Orthodox Jews, Indians, Chinese and Africans. Antwerp is very know by the diamonds business. It has one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe. You can see it in this video, where people suddenly start dancing in front of the surprised ones who passed by. Enjoy it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EYAUazLI9k We really had a very good time while in Eeklo with our friends. We are looking forward to our next meeting here in Tenerife! |
